What is V.I.P.?
VIP stands for Volunteers In Progress, a student volunteer program created by the Student Development Centre in 1983. VIP was designed to complement students' academic life by providing them with an opportunity to develop skills and gain career-related work experience, as well as enrich their social networks. Additionally, VIP enhances capacity and outreach by enabling the Student Development Centre and other departments to offer a wider variety of programs and services to Western's community.
The Volunteers In Progress program strives to serve as the link between academic learnings and tangible experiential learning opportunities. Our mission is to support this learning while simultaneously supporting student volunteers so they can discover new areas of interest, reach their full potential through their experience, and emerge as well-rounded individuals from their civic engagement.
